Semi-annual maintenance of the Dömitz bascule bridge
Initial situation
The Dömitz bascule bridge, built in 1993, serves as a central connection over the Elde River, used by both road and water traffic. As a movable bridge, it is subject to particularly high demands, as regular openings and closings require flawless functioning of the electrical systems. Wear and weather conditions can affect the bridge’s reliability and safety, making regular maintenance work essential.

Objective
Ensure the smooth operation of the bascule bridge through regular maintenance work. The goal is not only to guarantee functionality but also to identify and document potential damage early on to avoid costly repairs and extend the bridge’s lifespan.

Services
We conduct semi-annual maintenance of the Dömitz bascule bridge, with inspections carried out each spring and autumn. As part of these maintenance operations, all electrical components undergo a thorough visual and functional inspection. Any identified issues are carefully recorded and documented to detect and rectify potential risks early. After each maintenance session, a detailed maintenance report is produced, documenting the completed work and providing specific recommendations for the operator. The goal is to ensure the long-term operational safety and functionality of the bridge.
